Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
Design, develop, and optimize water treatment processes including filtration, chemical dosing, clarification, and disinfection.
Provide engineering support for the operation and maintenance of the water treatment plant.
Conduct technical assessments, prepare specifications, and review engineering drawings and P&IDs.
Ensure all systems comply with environmental, health, and safety regulations.
Coordinate with operations staff to resolve technical issues and optimize performance.
Analyze water quality data and recommend process adjustments to maintain compliance with regulatory standards.
Lead or support CAPEX and OPEX project planning, budgeting, and execution.
Manage vendor and contractor performance related to equipment installation and plant upgrades.
Develop and maintain standard operating procedures and maintenance manuals.
Monitor energy and chemical usage and recommend efficiency improvements.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Environmental, Civil, Chemical, or Mechanical Engineering (Master’s preferred).
5+ years of experience in water or wastewater treatment engineering (experience level can be adjusted).
Strong knowledge of water treatment technologies, hydraulics, and chemical processes.
Familiarity with applicable standards and regulations (e.g., EPA, WHO, local environmental authorities).
Experience with SCADA systems and plant automation is a plus.
Proficiency in engineering software such as AutoCAD, WaterCAD, or similar.
Excellent communication, analytical, and project management skills.
Preferred Certifications (Optional):
Certified Water Treatment Operator (Grade II/III/IV depending on location).
PMP, Six Sigma, or equivalent project/process improvement certification.
Safety training certifications (e.g., OSHA, HAZMAT).
