Job Description
Stewarding Supervisor plays a key role in overseeing the stewarding department, ensuring the highest standards of cleanliness, organization, and efficiency in the kitchen and dining areas. This position involves supervisory responsibilities, inventory management, and collaboration with various departments to uphold a seamless and hygienic operation within the hospitality setting.
Key Responsibilities
1. Supervision and Leadership:
· Assist the Chief Steward in supervising and leading the stewarding team.
· Provide guidance, training, and support to stewarding staff to ensure optimal performance.
· Assume leadership responsibilities in the absence of the Chief Steward.
2. Cleaning and Organization:
· Oversee and enforce cleanliness and sanitation standards in kitchen and dining areas.
· Conduct regular inspections to ensure adherence to hygiene protocols.
· Coordinate with kitchen and restaurant staff to manage the timely removal of dirty dishes and utensils.
3. Inventory Management:
· Assist in maintaining an organized inventory of cleaning supplies, chemicals, and equipment.
· Monitor usage and reorder supplies to ensure the stewarding team has the necessary tools for their duties.
4. Safety Compliance:
· Collaborate with the Chief Steward to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
· Conduct regular safety training sessions for stewarding staff.
5. Communication:
· Liaise with kitchen and restaurant management to address cleanliness or maintenance issues.
· Communicate effectively with team members to foster a positive and collaborative work environment.
6. Performance Evaluation:
· Assist in conducting regular performance evaluations for stewarding staff.
· Provide constructive feedback and identify areas for improvement.
· Recognize and reward exceptional performance within the team.
7. Training and Development:
· Collaborate with the Chief Steward to develop and implement training programs for stewarding staff.
· Stay updated on industry best practices and communicate relevant information to the team.
8. Problem Resolution:
· Assist in addressing and resolving conflicts or issues within the stewarding team.
· Investigate and respond to customer complaints related to cleanliness and stewarding services.
