Job Description
Operate heavy vehicles such as trucks and buses in a safe and responsible manner, following all traffic laws and regulations.
Load and unload cargo onto the vehicle, ensuring it is secure and properly distributed to maintain balance and stability.
Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle, checking for any mechanical issues or damage that may affect its safe operation.
Plan and follow the most efficient routes to reach destinations on time, considering factors such as traffic conditions and road closures.
Communicate effectively with dispatchers and other team members to coordinate delivery schedules and update them on any delays or issues encountered during the journey.
Adhere to company policies and procedures regarding vehicle maintenance, fueling, and reporting of any accidents or incidents.
At least 2 years of experience driving heavy vehicles, preferably in a commercial or industrial setting.
Clean driving record with no major violations or accidents in the past 3 years.
Familiarity with the local area and ability to navigate using GPS or maps.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately.
Physical fitness and ability to lift heavy objects and perform manual labor as required.
Fluency in English or other required languages for effective communication with customers and team members.
