Job Purpose:
The Document Controller will be responsible for managing and controlling all project documentation for construction projects, ensuring accuracy, timely distribution, and proper archiving. This role plays a critical part in supporting site teams, consultants, and subcontractors by maintaining clear and accessible records throughout the project lifecycle.
Manage the flow of documentation (drawings, submittals, RFIs, correspondence, reports) between clients, consultants, site teams, and subcontractors.
Use document management systems (e.g., Aconex, Procore, SharePoint) to receive, log, distribute, and archive project documentation.
Ensure all construction documents are up to date, properly numbered, and reflect the latest revisions.
Maintain document control logs and ensure documents are easily retrievable when needed.
Coordinate document submissions and approvals with consultants and project stakeholders.
Assist in preparing transmittals and ensure accurate tracking of document status.
Support the QA/QC team by maintaining records related to inspections, test reports, and material submittals.
Adhere to the project’s document control procedures and ensure compliance with ISO standards and company policies.
Assist during audits by providing requested documentation promptly.
Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Engineering, or related field.
Minimum 3-5 years of experience as a Document Controller in the construction industry.
Hands-on experience with EDMS tools like Aconex, Procore, or similar.
Strong knowledge of construction documents and project workflow.
Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
High attention to detail and accuracy.
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
Good communication and interpersonal skills.
Familiarity with FIDIC contract documentation.
Experience working on large-scale infrastructure or building projects.
Multilingual (English and Arabic preferred).
