Job Description

Job Title: Project Cost Controller

Location:Dammam, Saudi Arabia


Qualifications:

- Education:CWA/CMA

- Experience: Minimum 8 years in the EPC industry


Key Responsibilities:


Cost Analysis & Control:

- Monitor and analyze project costs for large EPC projects, ensuring they align with budgets.

- Track costs across all project phases (engineering, procurement, construction) and prepare variance reports.

- Validate petty cash, supplier expenses, and credit facilities.


Progress Monitoring & Reporting:

- Collaborate with teams to track project progress and update completion percentages (IFRS 15).

- Provide regular reports on cost performance, margins, and cash flow.


Contract & Cost Compliance:

- Ensure financial compliance with contract terms and regulations.

- Validate costs against contracts and identify potential savings or overruns.

- Conduct audits to allocate costs correctly across projects.


Inventory & Procurement Cost Management:

- Work with procurement to control material and service costs.

- Minimize waste and ensure proper valuation of inventory used in projects.


Risk Management & Cost Optimization:

- Identify cost-related risks (e.g., delays, scope changes) and propose cost-saving strategies.

- Recommend improvements in efficiency, manpower, and material management.


Fixed Assets Management:

- Monitor and track assets (machinery, equipment) at the project site.

- Oversee asset capitalization, depreciation, and audits for accuracy.


Financial Reporting & Forecasting:

- Prepare regular financial reports, analyze expenses, and forecast project costs.

- Generate monthly and quarterly reports for the project team and management.


Required Skills:

- Strong knowledge of IFRS standards (especially IFRS 15, 9, 16, and IAS 16)

- Understanding of EPC project lifecycle and cost management

- Proficient in project management and accounting software (e.g., SAP, Oracle)

- Excellent analytical, communication, and reporting skills
